Tutors Alliance Scotland is a not-for-profit organisation that sets professional standards for tuition in Scotland. We help families find safe, qualified and trusted tutors who are committed to making a real difference.

2. Why should I choose a TAS-accredited tutor?

TAS tutors have passed a strict vetting process, including safeguarding checks and qualifications. They also follow our Code of Conduct and values, so you know your child is in safe hands.

3. How do I find a tutor through TAS?

You can use our Tutor Directory to search by subject, level or location. If you need support, contact us and we'll guide you.

4. What subjects and age groups are covered?

Our members offer a wide range of subjects from early primary to senior secondary level, including additional support needs. Check tutor profiles or contact us for help.

5. How do you ensure tutors are safe to work with children?

All TAS tutors must hold a current PVG check, references and safeguarding training. We also monitor ongoing compliance and provide safeguarding guidance.

6. How much does tutoring cost?

Each tutor sets their own rates based on experience and subject. You'll find prices on tutor profiles or you can contact them directly.

7. What if I have a concern about a tutor?

We take complaints seriously. You can raise a concern via our Contact Us page and we will investigate in line with our safeguarding and complaints policy.

8. Can you help if I can't afford tutoring?

Tutors Alliance Scotland works with charities and other organisations across Scotland to support children through funded programmes. If your child attends a school or organisation working in partnership with us, they may be eligible. Ask your school or local education service about any tuition opportunities available and if they work with TAS.

9. Do TAS tutors work online or in person?

Some tutors work online, some in-person and many offer both. You can filter your search based on what suits your family best.
